The Foodie Doodle Story

As a child, I remember waking up on Sunday mornings to the smell of baking pies wafting up to my bedroom. The aromas of apples, cinnamon and nutmeg would permeate throughout the house making my mouth water and leave me with the delicious anticipation of the meal to come. My Mother was getting a head start on our traditional Sunday afternoon dinners. So, early on I learned that cooking delicious food comes from the heart and food done with care is an act of love. The sharing of food with family and friends created a family unity and was the beginning of my lifelong love of food and all things food related.

As my children were born and grew, I relished introducing new foods to them and watching their reactions to their first tastes of buttery corn on the cob, or the purple plumpness of blueberries. My enthusiasm for food was only enhanced by my love for my children. Oh how I delighted in their sweet baby smell and awe inspiring innocence. I now had two all encompassing loves: babies and food.

As my children had babies of their own, I, began expressing my love for them in pet food names. You know, we all do it, with endearments like "sugar pie" or "cupcake". After a while, it became a game to see how many different terms we could come up with. It would be our "hello" and our "goodbye" and the special little "thing" that we shared.

One night in the wee hours, when sleep escaped me, I had this light bulb moment. Why not create something that encompassed all three of my passions: Food, Love and Babies! Then, Foodie Doodles was born as responsible, eco-friendly bamboo clothing that is sweet as a pea.
